First Lady Catherine Houston

First Lady Catherine Houston was born in Atlanta, Georgia and is the youngest of twelve children to the late Superintendent George W. McDaniel and Lillie E. McDaniel. Her family migrated to Cincinnati, Ohio when she was a child and they joined Rescue Temple Church of God in Christ. Later, she met and married Pastor Ned Houston, III and together they have four wonderful daughters, twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Catherine Houston worked as an educator with the Cincinnati Public School District for over thirty years. She has dedicated her life to helping those who are impoverished. She has consistently demonstrated love, sensitivity, compassion and empathy on the job; in the home; and in the church. “Lady Catherine,” as she is often called, has worked in numerous capacities at Rescue Temple Church of God in Christ. She has served as the Secretary for the Sunday School Department, Y.W.C.C. President, Rescue Temple Choir, Sunday School Lead Teacher, Deaconess, Y.P.W.W. President and Rescue Temple Church Clerk. She continues to be dedicated and committed to the work of the Lord!
